“That’s it! I’m done stressing out,” I exclaim, “if you want to survive, you attract your own customers.” 😡
It was a low business day. We opened the place for dinner, ready to welcome the evening crowd, but all we got was… crickets! 🦗 🦗 🦗
My exclamation about attracting customers was directed at the restaurant.
I always considered Carrots an entity, with an energy of its own. I’d forget this often and think I was the one who had to *make* things happen. But occasionally when stuff got difficult, I’d step back and just allow the energy to do things its way.
That evening, soon after I let go of control and frustration, a couple breezed in for dinner. Coincidence? Here’s the conversation we had…
Me: So how did you get to know about us?
Lady: We’d seen your place before and had thought of visiting, but hadn’t got a chance.
Me: 😊 I see. *nodding*
Lady: Just now we were driving by and our car broke down on the street next to your building. So we came up to grab something to eat while we wait for the mechanic.
Me: Haha I’m glad you got a chance to visit us.
Me on the Inside: 😮😲😱
Cue spooky music? 😂
The Universe has a sense of humour. ☺️ But there’s also an undeniable magic to surrendering. Surrendering isn’t to give up and not do anything. It’s to let go and trust a higher power to guide you.
As business owners, we think we should constantly be in the driver’s seat. But we don’t have to be. We can step back and ask for guidance. And we often should.
The next time you feel cornered or uninspired or just plain clueless, instead of pushing yourself to figure it all out, try this.
🧘🏻♀️Place your hands on your heart, take a deep breath and release. Call to your Higher Self (Goddess/Universe/Angel… whatever) and say, “I surrender all control to you. I don’t know what to do. Show me the way and I’ll humbly follow.” 🙏🏽
Do this with love, faith, and gratitude. Then let yourself go into auto mode. Signs and messages will arrive. Take actions based on them (without overthinking it), and run your business with ease and joy. ☺️♥️
